Make-ahead freezer-packs! Now you have ready-made smoothies for the entire week. Simply add your milk and blend! That’s it!
I’m finally doing the 2019New Year, New You resolutions here. I’m just about one month late!
But hey, better late than never, right? Plus, I need to be doing something to balance out this and this.
So that’s what we’re doing today. We’re prepping for the week ahead with these make-ahead smoothie freezer-packs!
Simply assemble your smoothie ingredients into mason jars, pop them into the freezer and freeze.(You can also use quart-size freezer bags if you don’t have enough space in the freezer. Either will work just perfectly.)
That’s it. I’m serious. That’s really really it.
When you’re ready for your smoothie, simply take out your jar from the freezer and blend with your choice of milk. Boom. Done.

question – how long will these keep in the freezer?

Easy and delicious. I omitted the mango and I still don’t taste any spinach. Going to freeze remaining three servings in freezer quart bags, will see how they turn out when I use them later.
The measurements are weird and kind of complicated on this recipe. To simplify, I’d say plan to divide into fourths a small carton of strawberries and a small carton of blueberries. Put one banana into each. I also divided only a 5oz container of baby spinach into fourths. Used a whole 1/4 cup of oatmeal in each one too.

Whoops- I should be better at reading the recipe! I added 3/4 cup oats PER PACKET instead of across all the packets ! My bad… I’m planning on freezing these for after my baby is born in May so hopefully those oats will do me good Thanks for the recipe!!

To what does “Combine contents of one bag” refer to?
-
Shara Baythavong — May 28, 2020 @ 5:42 PM Reply
I think she means the individual bag or jar you used to portion out the ingredients before freezing. So when ready to make your smoothie, pull out the frozen bag / jar of ingredients and dump into blender w/ milk.

I made a smoothie to enjoy while I was getting one ready for the freezer. The only difference I made was to use a peach since mangoes are not one of my favorites and the freezer bag. It was delicious and no flavor of spinach at all just nice fresh fruity flavor. The frozen smoothie ingredients were very good to and very easy just added the unsweetened almond milk and pulsed together. Will make these up for the freezer and switch up the fruit at times. Made and reviewed for the Alphabet tag game.

3/4 cup. 3-4 cups would be a lot of oats! 🙂

if you have a measuring cup says… 3/4 cup…that is 3/4 which is less amount than 3-4 cups ( 3 or 4 cups )
if you have a set of measuring cups ( 1 cup, 1/2 cup, 3/4 cup 1/4 cup and 1/8 cup )

I didn’t know you could freeze raw spinach. That would be fabulous if it works. I will give it a try…think of all the spinach I would not have to throw out! And all the smoothies I could have later.

Freezing spinach works great! I make my own dog food so I can now freeze the spinach and I don’t have to chop it up…just scrunch it and it breaks apart when frozen. Woohoo! And I will never waste spinach again. You are my hero!

I love this idea! I just bought smoothie fixings for my family, and this will be much quicker in the mornings. Just wondered if the goodies will freeze and be hard to get out? Might be a silly question.

Just pack them lightly and you shouldn’t have a problem!

If you have a regular blender like Oster, the attachment for the blender fits on the small mouth jars. I just pour my milk and blend. Less clean up.

Will freezing the contents in a plastic (gladware type) container be OK too? Or are glass jars needed?
-
Chungah @ Damn Delicious — May 25, 2019 @ 8:21 AM Reply
If they are freezer-safe containers, then yes, absolutely.

I made the CREAMY TORTELLINI SOUP today, on the slur of the moment. It was easy to put together, the longest thing was browning the sausage! It was really good! My husband said to put it in the good pile!
